It would pop into my head sometimes and when I ordered a life planner for next year I chose that quote to be on the front. I needed the reminder that the life I imagined? It was coming.
Suddenly I was hearing or seeing Thoreau's quote everywhere.
A photo frame at a local store.
A friend emailing it to me saying it reminded her of me.
It was a reminder to keep moving forward. Taking those steps of faith and trusting in the One who knows me to the very depths of my soul. The one who created me uniquely and with purpose.
I am at a point in my story and in my becoming that I am trying to figure out my dreams. I have rediscovered old dreams once buried and have thought through them again and journaled about details and the like. Jon Acuff calls it a process of discovery. I like that term. Our purpose so long ago placed in our heart fits with some of those dreams of ours that we once held close to our heart but time and life put distance in between.
You see the life we imagined? It is the same life He has imagined for us. When our hearts beat in rhythm with His? That life, our story, becomes what the One who loves us most has for us.
One day when I am gone I want to be remembered for going after my dreams. For confidently moving foward and toward them and trusting God that with each step I was fulfilling my unique and wonderful purpose.
That is what I want in my becoming.
My hope is that you have been encouraged and challenged. I also hope He has spoken to you and given you something along these 31 days.
Also I must Thank you so much for your kind comments and emails. Your words spurred me on to finish this and finish it well because He had given me something to say.
Part of the reason I did this series was because I wanted you to know you were not alone. No matter what part of your story you are in...YOU are never alone. Your story is beautiful and unique. Each chapter a reflection of you and Him.
Keeping going after your dreams. Confidently. Courageously. Live the life you imagined.
My hope is that you will be brave in your becoming.
And you are always...
In the becoming.
